Cookies and analytics

You can choose whether to allow optional analytics. Either choice lets you read the website and use your account.

Your choice

We only load Google Analytics after you choose “Allow analytics”. Choosing “Reject analytics”, or leaving the choice unset, keeps it off. We remember your choice in this browser for six months, then ask again.

You can change your choice at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer. Rejecting analytics stops collection, removes the Google Analytics cookies and may reload the page. It does not remove your account cookies or change your membership access.

What analytics measures

We use Google Analytics to understand visits to supported public pages, such as our homepage, opportunities hub, workshops and script consulting. When you allow it, Google receives page-view events, browser and device information, and a cookie identifier. We also measure selected public actions, such as opening the newsletter form or Eventbrite, choosing a consulting service, saving a consulting enquiry and starting to join as a member. We use private reports, including through OpenSEO, to help improve the website.

We remove query parameters and fragments from page addresses and clean referring addresses before sending them. We do not send names, email addresses, form contents, script submissions or uploaded filenames. Account, admin and authentication pages, protected resources and individual opportunity pages are excluded from this page measurement.

With your analytics permission, we can also count a confirmed new website account or paid membership when you next return to a supported public page. The website checks the actual account confirmation or payment before counting the outcome. We do not send account-page content, your email, account identifiers, payment references or script details to Google.

Opening a newsletter form is not a confirmed subscription, clicking Eventbrite is not a workshop booking, and saving a consulting enquiry is not a purchased service. Those actions are reported separately. Advertising storage, advertising personalisation and Google signals are disabled.

The Analytics property currently retains event data for two months and user data associated with Analytics identifiers for fourteen months. Its “Reset on new user activity” setting is on, so new activity can renew the user-data retention period. These settings do not limit the lifetime of aggregated standard reports. Google explains these retention settings. Rejecting analytics stops new collection; it does not remove information already included in Analytics reports.

Cookies and browser storage

Our Analytics cookies are set on this website only after you allow analytics. Their lifetime is limited to the time remaining on your six-month choice.

Your analytics choice and lp_analytics_consent_v2
Browser storage and a first-party preference cookie remember whether you allowed or rejected analytics for up to six months. This choice is separate from signing in and lets the website check your analytics permission before preparing a confirmed outcome.
Confirmed outcome receipts: lp_analytics_outcomes_v1
After a confirmed account registration or paid membership, a temporary signed receipt lets the website count the outcome once on your next eligible public visit, while your analytics permission remains valid. The receipt lasts for up to 30 minutes. It is not sent to Google, and rejecting analytics prevents these optional receipts from being used. We keep a minimal first-party record to avoid counting the same outcome twice, without storing raw account or payment identifiers in that record.
lp_analytics_ga and lp_analytics_ga_NZLTLH4FFJ
Optional Google Analytics cookies help distinguish visits and sessions. They expire no later than your current choice and are removed when you reject analytics.
Account and session cookies
Signing in uses account cookies to keep you signed in. Your analytics choice does not enable, disable or remove these cookies.

If you clear your browser storage, we will ask for your analytics choice again. If your browser cannot save the choice, analytics stays off.
