Script Consulting Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of script consulting services by London Playwrights’ Workshop. By purchasing this service, you agree to the following:
1. Eligibility
You confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and legally able to enter into a binding contract.
2. Services Provided
Script consulting services are provided on a per-script, per-draft basis.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the service includes feedback on one draft of one script only. Any additional drafts, revisions, or further work must be commissioned separately and will incur additional fees.
3. Types of Feedback
The specific service provided will be as selected at the time of purchase and may include one of the following:
- A 90 minute Zoom consultation, plus written follow up notes
- A written report
- A written report on the first 10 pages and premise only
The scope of feedback is limited to the selected service. Any additional feedback, follow up discussions, or further analysis will require a separate agreement and payment.
4. Submission and Amendments
Once the reading process has begun, no revised or additional material may be submitted.
5. Turnaround Time
Feedback will be delivered within the timeframe agreed via email prior to payment.
Standard turnaround is typically within 3 weeks, but may be longer during busy periods. Any extended timeframe will be clearly communicated in advance.
Timeframes are estimates and not legally binding deadlines.
6. Fees and Payment
All fees must be paid in full via the designated secure payment provider before any work begins.
No work will commence until both:
- Payment has been received in full
- The script has been submitted
7. Refund Policy
All payments are non-refundable once the reading process has begun.
If you choose to cancel before work has started, a refund may be issued at the sole discretion of London Playwrights’ Workshop, minus any administrative or processing costs.
8. Right to Refuse Service
London Playwrights’ Workshop reserves the right to decline any application at its discretion, including where the service is not deemed suitable for the writer’s needs.
No contract is formed until:
- An invoice has been issued
- Full payment has been received
If a submission is declined after payment but before work has begun, a full refund will be issued.
9. Creative Development Sessions
For Creative Development sessions, the scope, duration, and intended outcomes will be agreed in advance between the client and consultant.
All sessions must be paid for in advance and are subject to these Terms and Conditions unless otherwise agreed in writing.
10. Confidentiality
London Playwrights’ Workshop will treat all submitted materials as confidential and will not share, reproduce, or distribute your work without your permission.
However, you acknowledge that:
- Absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed in digital communications
- Similar ideas or themes may arise independently in other works
11. Intellectual Property
You retain full ownership and copyright of your work at all times.
Nothing in this agreement transfers or assigns any intellectual property rights to London Playwrights’ Workshop.
12. Nature of Feedback
All feedback provided is subjective and based on the professional opinion of the consultant.
London Playwrights’ Workshop makes no guarantees regarding:
- The commercial success of your work
- Production outcomes
- Representation, publication, or commissioning opportunities
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, London Playwrights’ Workshop shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from the use of its services.
Total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the service.
14. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
